This article explores the important topic of the metaverse and
its relationship to intellectual property, with a focus on analyzing the legal
aspects of selling digital versions of brands. The Metaverse is a new realm of
virtual and augmented reality where users interact with digital worlds. The
article examines the role of brands in the metaverse and explores possible
intellectual property rights issues when selling digital versions of brands. The
author analyzes the issues of trademark protection in the metaverse. Discusses
various legal norms and regulations regarding the use and control of trademarks
in the context of the metaverse. The article offers recommendations for the
effective protection of intellectual property rights in the metaverse, given the
rapid development of technology and the complexity of applying existing legal
structures in the new digital environment.
