About the Journal

SDU Journal of Media Studies is a peer-reviewed, multilingual (Kazakh, English, Russian), and open-access academic journal. It publishes original research articles in the fields of journalism, media, and communication that have not been previously published elsewhere.

The primary aim of SDU Journal of Media Studies is to advance scientific understanding by exploring theoretical and practical issues in journalism, media, and communication. The journal seeks to foster an academic environment by disseminating research findings from both Kazakhstani and international scholars.

The journal covers two main scientific directions:

• Media: Society, History, and Politics
• Journalism

SDU Journal of Media Studies is published four times a year (March, June, September, and December). All submitted articles undergo a double-blind peer review process by two anonymous reviewers.

The journal is officially registered with the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
