The content of the article examines how the media has covered
the topic of suicide in the children's years. It aims to determine the ethical content
of the articles, especially those related to child suicide. The state publication
Egemen Kazakhstan newspaper was chosen as the object of research.
In our article, which uses the qualitative research method, we rely on the
experience and theories of world-class writing on the topic of suicide. We will
analyze the materials within the framework of the Agenda setting theory, and we
will also review concepts such as the Werther effect, the Papageno effect, and
suicide. We will analyze the progress of writing the subject of suicide from an
ethical point of view in the media of Kazakhstan, including the news.
At the same time, by grouping one year's articles related to child suicide
in 2022 of the selected mass media, we determined with the help of content
analysis what unethical expressions the mass media use when writing about the
topic of suicide.
"Suicide" news in the media is not about sensationalism, ratings and
showing tragedy, but it is important to present information that should be balanced with the audience's responsibility for life and the "public's right to
know"
